BKTSQD Multicolor Shorts Collection Review: Print Alignment and Hem Stitching on a $10.15 Sport Short
We ordered and wore the $10.15 BKTSQD multicolor short, checked its stitching, prints and waistband, and compared it against a retail sport short. Solid for the price; no liner, no buyer reports, size chart only.

We ordered our pair of the BKTSQD multicolor shorts collection through our usual agent and it landed at the Los Angeles desk in a plain poly bag. The listing price is $10.15 USD against a $12.07 original, SKU 7720535002, and the catalog shows it in stock. That is low enough that the interesting question is not whether it looks like the photos, but whether a ten-dollar polyester short is put together well enough to wear for actual training. So we ran our standard apparel inspection and then kept wearing it.

The print set covers aurora, geometric, flame, wave and abstract motifs with a small B mark on the lower leg. A wholesale listing we found with matching attributes sells the same family in bulk under colour codes BKTSQD-1 through BKTSQD-80, which is a fair explanation for why the collection looks so sprawling in the reference photos. We cannot confirm that listing is the identical production run, but the fabric composition, no-liner construction and S–XXL range match.
How we tested
Every featured product gets ordered by us, then inspected against a fixed checklist. For this short we worked through ten points before any wear:
- Waistband width and elastic recovery after stretching
- Drawstring cord thickness, tips and how well it holds a knot
- Hem and side-seam stitching, checked for skipped stitches and loose thread
- Print registration where a graphic crosses a panel seam
- Logo placement and scale on the lower leg
- Pocket depth and reinforcement at the opening
- Inner lining seam and finish
- Care and content label wording
- Leg opening shape at the straight cut
- Overall silhouette against a retail sport short laid flat
Construction findings
The hem and side seams are the strongest part of the build. Stitching is single-needle and even, with no skipped runs and only a few thread tails to trim. Print registration is the point we expected to fail at this price, and it did not: on our flame-and-geometric pair the pattern continued across the side seam with a small offset of a few millimetres, which is normal for a cut-and-sew panel print and not visible at arm's length.
The waistband is a simple elastic channel with a flat drawstring, and it recovered its shape after we stretched it. The drawstring tips are heat-sealed rather than aglet-capped, so expect them to fray eventually. Pockets are present and deep enough for a phone, with no bar-tack at the corners, which is the first place we expect wear. The B mark on the lower leg sits straight and is screen-printed, not a patch, so it will crack before it peels.
Fit, sizing and the size chart
Our measurements sat inside the tolerance the listing declares, which the catalog sets at 1–3 cm. That band is wide, and it is the main reason we would not treat the label size as reliable. The leg opening is genuinely loose — the straight cut hangs away from the thigh rather than tapering — so the S–XXL range covers more body types than the size count suggests. The mid-rise waist sits at the hip bone on our tester, and the unisex grading runs a touch roomy, which suits a sport short worn over a base layer in cold weather.
Because there is no third-party buyer feedback attached to this listing, our tape measurements are the only sizing evidence we can hand you. Compare your own waist and hip numbers to the chart rather than your usual size in a fitted short.
Twenty hours of wear
We wore the pair for walking and light running across several days in Los Angeles heat, plus a gym session. The shell stayed light and did not cling when damp, and it hung dry faster than a cotton short we left beside it on the same rail. The polyester lining is the weak link in hot weather — it holds a little more warmth against the skin than a mesh liner would, and without any inner brief the fabric moves freely, which some wearers will notice immediately.
Nothing about this short feels like a ten-dollar item until you notice the missing liner. Then it feels exactly like a ten-dollar item.
The quick-dry and breathable language in the listing is a catalog claim we can only partly support: the fabric dried fast for us, but we have no lab data and no seller-provided test report to cite, and no second pair to check batch consistency. Treat durability over a full season as unverified.
What the price buys, and what it does not
At $10.15 before agent fees and international shipping, this sits well under what a branded graphic short costs. The B mark points to a Los Angeles label that sells its own flame-graphic shorts at retail pricing, and the listing here is clearly the replica-market version of that look. If graphic accuracy matters to you, compare the print against the brand's own product photos before ordering, because the collection's 80-odd colour codes mean your chosen variant may not match any photo you saw.
What you do not get: a built-in liner, a close-to-body cut, verified buyer feedback, or any independent durability evidence. What you do get is a cleanly stitched, correctly printed, loose sport short for the price of two coffees.
Frequently asked
What are these shorts made of?
The listing gives polyester for the shell and polyester for the lining, with quick-dry and breathable listed as the fabric properties. Those performance claims are catalog specifications; we measured fast drying in our own wear test but have no lab data behind them.
Do they have a built-in liner?
No. The catalog states no liner or brief is included, so you are wearing a single layer of shell over a polyester lining. If you need support, size down or choose a style with a liner.
How does the sizing run?
Sizes S–XXL, unisex adult, with a mid-rise waist and a loose straight leg. The listing declares a 1–3 cm tolerance, so compare your own waist and hip measurements to the chart rather than ordering your usual label size.

honestly shocked at this price. wore mine for a run and some lifting, print didn't fade, hem held, waistband stayed put. no liner but I wear compression shorts under anyway so it is fine. got the multicolor blue/green one, alignment on the side seam is clean. if you are on the fence just buy 2, cheapest beater shorts I own.
Mine came with the print slightly off center on one leg, noticeable if you stare. Compared to a retail sport short the fabric is thinner and the waistband rolls after a wash. Not terrible for $10 but don't expect retail quality. Stitching overall is okay, no loose threads on mine. Sizing is the real gamble, go off the chart not your usual size.
Print looks a little sharper in person than on the listing pics, colors pop more. Hem stitching on the bottom is straight but you can tell it's machine rushed, tiny thread tails. Wore them to the gym twice, no pilling on the fabric so far. Would cop again but I wish they had a liner option, sweat shows through the lighter colors.
ordered 3 pairs in different colorways because the price is stupid low. checked the print alignment on mine, the side stripes actually line up at the seam which is rare at this price point. waistband elastic is decent, not that flimsy ribbon stuff. only note: size chart runs small, I normally wear M and the L fits like a normal M.
grabbed the black/red pair last month for actual pickup games. print held up fine after maybe 8 washes, no cracking yet. hem stitching is single stitch and a bit loose on the left leg but nothing unraveled. no liner is the annoying part, you feel every seam if you go commando. for $10.15 honestly cannot complain, just size up if you got thick thighs.
