Casablanca Graphic Print Black T-Shirt Review: 250 g Cotton, Ten-Point Tee Test

By Derek Kim, Reviews Editor

We ordered the Casablanca graphic print black T-shirt in one of the black numbered variants, in size M, for $8.81 (listed down from $9.27, SKU 7718753246). It arrived in stock and on schedule. This is a loose-cut, short-raglan-sleeve crewneck in the brand's cartoon-and-geometry graphic language, sold in dozens of numbered black and white options from size S to XL. The listing quotes 250 g cotton, a normal thickness, a 1–3 cm measurement tolerance, and a 2024 summer release.

The ten checks we ran on this tee

Our testing team runs every garment through a fixed ten-point inspection, then wears it for at least 20 hours. Here is how this shirt scored against that list.

CheckWhat we looked forResult
1. Packing slip and labelSKU, size and variant code matching our orderMatched; variant code confirmed on the bag label
2. Outer packagingCompression, moisture protection, creasingSimple poly bag, no damage, light fold creases that dropped out
3. Smell out of the bagDye or chemical odourMild print-dye smell, gone after airing for a day
4. Print qualityEdge sharpness, registration, coverage on blackClean edges, no haloing; white areas sit opaque enough on the black base
5. StitchingRaglan seam, underarm join, cuff and hem linesEven and tight; a couple of thread tails we trimmed
6. NeckbandRib density and shape recovery after stretchingSnaps back; did not gap or ripple across the front
7. Hem finishStraightness and stitch densityStraight straight-stitch hem, no waviness
8. Neck and wash labelFabric content and care instructionsCotton declared; care text is minimal, so wash cold and inside out
9. Silhouette on bodyDrop at the shoulder, body width, lengthRelaxed, not sack-like; hem sits at the hip
10. Wear and wash20 hours of wear plus one cold washNo pilling at the underarm, print unchanged

Our sample measured roughly 54 cm across the chest, 70 cm from the high shoulder point to the hem, and 34 cm along the raglan from collar to cuff in size M. Treat those as one sample rather than a spec sheet, because the listing itself allows a 1–3 cm tolerance.

Fit: the one place the evidence fights itself

The catalog describes a loose cut. Buyer reports on Casablanca tops generally split instead of agreeing: one reviewer in the FashionReps sizing thread found the fit slightly oversized and suggested sizing down for a tailored look, while other buyers describe their usual size as correct. Our own sample sat between the two — roomy through the body and chest, but not so oversized that we would have dropped a size for everyday wear.

That split is the single most useful thing to know before ordering. Compare the chest and length figures against a tee you already like, rather than trusting either camp, and remember the tee runs S–XL only with no XXL escape hatch.

Fabric weight and the retail reference

The listing quotes 250 g cotton with a print-dye process and normal thickness. Retail Casablanca tees are consistently described as 100% organic cotton, made in Portugal, on a heavyweight jersey in the 220–240 gsm region with a finely ribbed crew neck. We did not have a retail tee of this exact graphic on hand, so we compared construction against those published retail specifications and product photography rather than a physical side-by-side.

On that basis, our sample reads a touch lighter in hand than the retail heavyweight feel, but firmer than a typical $10 blank. After 20 hours of wear — including a long walk and a short light run — the body held its shape and the underarms showed no pilling. One cold wash inside out left the print unchanged, though print durability across a season of washing remains unverified for this listing.

“They are thick and 100% cotton. Not the thickest I've had, but super close. Print quality of the graphics is A+.” — buyer report on Casablanca shirts in r/FashionReps. Note that this covers the brand's shirts generally, not this SKU.

The numbered-variant problem

This listing is not one shirt. It is a range labelled only by number, running from roughly 90 down to 37, each offered in black and white. The number is the artwork: different codes show different cartoon-geometry prints. Our order arrived with the correct code and the correct graphic, but we had exactly one code in hand, so we cannot tell you what any other number looks like on a body. Pull up the photographs attached to your chosen code and match them before you pay.

How we score it

  • Construction and stitching: 4 / 5. Even seams, straight hems, a neckband that recovers. Excellent means retail-grade finishing, and this is close but not there.
  • Print quality: 4 / 5. Sharp, fully registered, strong on black. We docked a point for unknown long-term durability.
  • Fit consistency: 3 / 5. The garment is fine; the guidance around it is not. Conflicting buyer reports plus a 1–3 cm tolerance make a measurement check mandatory.
  • Value: 5 / 5. At $8.81 against retail Casablanca tees that list in the $250–$325 band, the price-to-wear ratio is hard to argue with.

Overall: 4.1 / 5. That lands at "good" on our five-point scale — a genuinely useful summer tee at a throwaway price, held back by documentation rather than the garment itself.

What we could not verify

  • No buyer review we found covers this exact SKU, so all quality evidence is about Casablanca tops in general.
  • The retail complaints about Casablanca quality and service are single reports, including one buyer who says a defect appeared after minimal wear and a replacement was refused. That is a data point, not a pattern — but get any after-sales policy in writing first if support matters to you.
  • Long-term print cracking, colour fastness on the white variants, and whether other numbered codes match their photos are all open questions.

For styling, keep it simple: neutral denim, shorts, or an open overshirt, and let the graphic carry the outfit. Sizing, variant selection and after-sales policy are the three things to settle before checkout — not the shirt's construction, which measured up well in our lab.

Frequently asked

Does this Casablanca graphic tee run big?

The listing calls it a loose cut with a 1–3 cm tolerance, and buyer reports on Casablanca tops split between oversized and true to size. Our size M sat between. Compare the chest and length figures to a tee you already own.

Which numbered variant should I order?

The listing labels options only by number, roughly 90 down to 37, in black and white, and each code shows different artwork. We only handled one code, so open the photos attached to your chosen number and match the graphic before paying.

Is the print durable?

In our test the print kept its edge sharpness through 20 hours of wear and one cold inside-out wash, with no pilling. Buyer reports on Casablanca shirts praise the prints generally, but no review covers this SKU across a full season of washing.

Loose cut is no joke, it drapes almost like an XL on me. 250g claim feels optimistic but it's not the thin 180g stuff either. Print survived a warm wash by accident so durability seems okay. Just measure your favorite tee before pulling the trigger.

Ordered two, one came with the variant tag correct, other one tag said 1 but print placement was off center maybe 5mm. Not a big deal at this price. Shipping took 13 days to EU. Would rebuy the white one.

measurement check saved me on this one! Normally a M in Casablanca retail but ordered S based on the chart and it fits perfect. 62cm chest flat, 68 length. Fabric has a nice dry hand feel, not slippery or shiny like some cheap reps.

For $8.81 you can't really lose but stitching on the hem of mine was a little wavy. Neck ribbing is decent though, holds shape. Front graphic reads fine from a few feet away, slight blur up close on the small text near the bottom.

Got the black/white numbered variant in a size L. Print is crisp, no cracking after two cold washes inside out. Cotton feels closer to 240 g than 250 honestly but not thin. Fit is boxy, sleeves wide. I'd size down if you want a normal tee look.
