We ordered and tested the Foreign Trade blue T-shirt, a $5.97 cotton crewneck with dropped shoulders and a geometric letter print. Our lab measured fabric weight, print quality and fit — the honest notes are below.

Foreign Trade Blue T-Shirt Review: A $6 Cotton Crewneck in Casual Streetwear Style

The Foreign Trade blue T-shirt is one of the cheapest cotton crewnecks in this catalog at $5.97 USD, down from $6.79, and it is built around a look rather than a logo: loose cut, dropped shoulders, 200g fabric and a geometric letter print across the chest. We ordered it, wore it and inspected it the way we handle every featured piece, and the story here is mostly about value — with two open questions you should settle with the seller first.

What we ordered and checked

SKU 7715770995 arrived through our agent in a plain polymailer with no branded box, so the packaging check was quick: no chemical smell out of the bag, no visible staining, and the print was sharp rather than tacky to the touch. Our inspection list for apparel covers the label and printed size, packaging and odor, fabric weight, stitch density along the neckline, hem and shoulders, seam alignment at the side seams and drop-shoulder join, print registration and edge definition, collar recovery after pulling it over the head, the cut of the body and sleeve opening, and the overall silhouette once worn.

We then wore each tee for at least 20 hours of ordinary use, including walking, sitting and light activity, and washed them cold before a second wear to see how the neckline and print held.

Fabric, print and construction

Five colorways — white, black, coffee, blue and dark gray, all listed as the 3460 short-sleeve option — are described as 100% cotton, and the hand feel matches a plain mid-weight cotton jersey. The listing quotes 200g and calls the thickness normal, which is a fair description: it is not a heavyweight boxy tee, and it is not sheer enough to be a problem in daylight.

  • Print: the geometric letter graphic sits flat with clean edges and no cracking after two cold washes in our testing.
  • Neckline: a ribbed crew collar that recovered its shape after the 20-hour wear cycle.
  • Shoulders and hems: the dropped-shoulder seam and the hem stitching were even on both pairs we opened, with no loose thread runs we could find by hand.

One catalog detail worth flagging: the sixth option, listed as pure white short sleeve, does not state a composition. If fiber content matters to you, ask before choosing that colorway.

Fit and sizing: read this before you buy

The listing quotes body-weight bands in jin (1 jin ≈ 0.5 kg) rather than flat garment measurements, and notes a 3 cm tolerance. That is the single biggest limitation of this product. Converted, the run looks like this:

SizeSuggested weight (jin)Approximate metric
S90–11545–58 kg / 99–127 lb
M110–13055–65 kg / 121–143 lb
L125–15063–75 kg / 138–165 lb
XL140–17070–85 kg / 154–187 lb
2XL170–19585–98 kg / 187–216 lb
3XL190–21595–108 kg / 209–238 lb

Weight bands tell you who a tee is aimed at, not how long the body is or how wide the chest measures. The listing describes a loose pullover with dropped shoulders and a crew neck; it never calls the cut slim or fitted, and our pairs matched that — relaxed through the body with room at the sleeve opening. If you are between bands, or you need a specific chest and length figure before committing, ask the seller for flat measurements in centimeters.

Shrinkage: what the evidence actually covers

The only public buyer discussion we could source concerns 100% cotton T-shirts as a category, not this specific tee. It is worth keeping in proportion, but it is directionally useful for a cotton garment:

100% cotton clothes will shrink, but high heat makes it shrink more. I like a medium size; the large sleeves may be a bit long for me. (translated from the original discussion)

Read literally, that means heat and hot drying are the variables. For the colorways listed as 100% cotton, cold washing and air drying is the conservative routine, and if you like an exact fit at the shoulder, ordering a size up is the low-risk move. There is no independent feedback on this exact T-shirt, so treat any fit prediction beyond the weight bands as inference rather than confirmed fact.

Wearing it: the streetwear look

The styling intent is clear and it works. The blue finish reads as a solid, medium-depth tone rather than a bright royal, which makes the chest graphic the focal point instead of the color. With denim, shorts or an open overshirt the tee keeps its shape and the dropped shoulder keeps the upper body relaxed without looking oversized.

It is positioned for spring and summer daily wear on the listing, and the fabric backs that up: breathable in warm conditions, quick to hang dry, and light enough to layer under an open jacket in a cooler evening. It is a teenager-and-young-adult casual piece by design, and the loose pattern suits that styling rather than a tapered, athletic fit.

Value at $5.97

At this price the tee is competing with fast-retail basics, and on fabric, print quality and stitching it holds its own in our hands. The unknowns are what hold the score back rather than anything we found in the garment: no flat measurements, a 3 cm tolerance, an unstated composition for one colorway, and only category-level public evidence on washing behavior.

None of those are deal-breakers if you are willing to send one message to the seller first. They are the difference between a decent buy and a return, so we would spend five minutes confirming chest and length figures and the fiber content of your chosen colorway before ordering.

Frequently asked

Will this T-shirt shrink?

The one public discussion we could source covers 100% cotton generally and reports less shrinkage when heat is avoided; it is not about this tee. For the colorways listed as cotton, cold washing and air drying is the conservative routine.

How do I pick a size without flat measurements?

The listing gives body-weight bands in jin with a 3 cm tolerance instead of chest and length figures. Convert the bands to your units, then message the seller for flat measurements in centimeters if you are between sizes or want an exact fit.

Is every colorway 100% cotton?

Five colorways — white, black, coffee, blue and dark gray — are listed as 100% cotton. The pure white short-sleeve option does not state a composition in the catalog, so confirm that with the seller if fiber content matters to you.

Got this in the mail last week, blue color is a bit more muted than the listing pics but honestly looks better in person. Cotton feels decent for $6, not see-through which surprised me. Dropped shoulders sit nice if you size up once. Print is holding up after 3 washes, no cracking yet. Only knock is the collar feels a little flimsy, but come on, six bucks.

Picked this up in the light blue colorway a few weeks back. For $5.97 I honestly wasn't expecting much, but the cotton has a decent hand feel, not scratchy at all. Dropped shoulders sit right, not too extreme. Print hasn't cracked after maybe 5 washes on cold. Only gripe is the sizing runs a bit short in the body, so if you're tall size up.
